Classes

I am trying desperately to motivate myself to get my schoolwork done early. I have a survey to write, a reaction paper, and a French composition. When I write it out like that, it is really not a lot of stuff. Although it will become a lot decide to push it off and do it all on Sunday night. So, the point of this post is to motivate myself to do my work in a reasonable amount of time. They really are quite simple. I just need to add in the demographics for my survey, so that should only take 30 minutes. My reaction paper is only 2 pages long, so that is not bad and should take about 1 and 1/2 hours. My French composition is only 250 words, and the short film it is over has subtitles, so I understand what is going on. They are all really quite simple. I just don’t want to do them 🙁

Maybe looking at my cay will motivate me

Weather

I am so happy that the weather is nice today (Wednesday). The warmth and sunshine are really boosting my mood. As I write this post, I am sitting in my hammock, living the life. I do not really have much else to say about life, as nothing that exciting has happened in the past day. Although I unfortunately had to miss my roommate’s boyfriend’s frat event. Which was waxing a frat guy for donations to some place. It is not that I do not like him; it is that it would have been hilarious to watch. It reminds me of the time my sister, my brothers’ then-girlfriend (now wife), and I held my brother down in a bathtub so his wife would wax his toes. That was a crazy sentence to write out, but 100% true. He whimpered like a stray puppy. Very funny time.

Easter Update

Happy Easter. He is Risen! – NL Moore & Associates

This past weekend was nice because it was Easter Sunday. I got to see family and hang out with my best friend’s family too. After church I went to visit my grandpa and see my stepdad’s side of the family. Then, I went to my friend Tanya’s cousin’s house for lunch/dinner. We played card games and walked outside around her neighborhood because it was so nice outside. I’ve been trying to make Sunday rest more of a priority. I do my best to get my homework done Friday and Saturday so that I can rest Sunday and enjoy spending time with friends and family. It can be hard though to get everything done before Sunday, and I often don’t accomplish that because of the amount I have to do. In this case, I end up leaving it for Monday, but it ends up being okay because I work ahead. The things I plan to get done aren’t really due until later in the week, but I like to get them done over the weekend.

I also saw a people out early this morning on my walk back from the rec around 7am and I was shocked because a lot of people don’t usually get up and walk around campus. I quickly realized it was for the egg hunt. I scanned on my walk back once I realized there were eggs hidden, but I didn’t see a single one.

Ice Bucket Challenge??

Ice bucket challenge returns with new focus on mental health

So, when I heard that the ice bucket challenge was going around, I was very surprised because the first time it went around was a while ago. It’s crazy to think that it started in 2014, which is 11 years ago… more than a decade ago! 2014 feels like it isn’t even that far behind. I don’t feel like time has really gone by. I mean, I’m almost twenty and I feel like no time has passed at all since I was in middle school. It is weird to think about how much my life has changed since then and how my younger self might view my current self now. It feels like it has been such a gradual change that nothing has changed at all. Anyways, I ended up getting nominated to do the challenge, which was fun, but unexpected. After dinner my friends and I filmed each other for the challenge, and it is funny because I’ve seen other people around campus filming for it too.

Dance Dance Dance podcast

Even though I wasn’t in class today, I know what I will be discussing on my podcast. Our podcast as a whole focuses on deciding what’s supernatural vs reality in the book. I’m going to focus on Kiki’s character, discerning her as a real person or otherwise. I personally think that Kiki is real but also has some sort of supernatural presence, although I will probably approach my segment from an unbiased point of view because I’m not really sure.

Exam

Hey guys. I had a huge exam this morning. I was home all weekend for Easter so I didn’t really do that much studying for it over break. I stayed up last night until 7am studying and almost slept through it. I really hope I don’t drop the ball on this one. I came back from my exam, still sick from my strep last week and passed out in my bed. I fell asleep until around 6pm, at which point I woke up to a squirrel outside my window. I also noticed I had slept through not one but two classes. I guess I learned my lesson on that one.

Ice Bucket Challenge

This past weekend, my friends from here at school got nominated for the new “speak your mind” ice bucket challenge. Once I saw their post, I immediately knew I would have to do it. And I was right. There came my friends post, and I was nominated. If you know anything about me, I have the worst cold intolerance, cannot stand being cold, and I will not warm up if I am. However, it did not bother me too much because my friend, Tyler, was also nominated, and it’s all for a good cause in the first place. It is for a mental health organization, and mental health is something I am really passionate about.

Has anyone else been nominated yet?

End of the Semester crunch

This semester has not been going that great for me. I was sick a thousand times, got stuck at home or at school a thousand times from snow, I’ve had problems back at home and medically, and all of which have caused me to be completely out of wack. Because of this, my grades are lowkey fighting for their lives right now. I think I will end up with okay grades, or at least I hope, but my GPA will not be anything to be proud of. It’s okay though, because throughout this whole semester and all the battles I’ve dealt with, I still stuck it out as much as I could and now I am almost done! I just have to grind out as much of my work as possible, and complete as many things to the best of my capability, and I will consider it my best effort and a challenge I’ve overcome! I hope everyone is doing okay!

End of the Semester

I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that the semester is almost over. Just 2-ish long weeks left. First year of college nearly complete. I feel like it was just yesterday that I walked across the stage to get my high school diploma. Also, slightly related, two girls that I work with were talking about their high school graduation that is coming up in a week or so and one of them turned to me and said, you’re not in high school right, I said no, and she said, yah you don’t look like you are. I am sorry what? Am I old?? I was kind of taken back and confused as whether that was a good or bad thing. I don’t want people to think that I am in high school, but I also don’t want people to think that I am old. Any way back to what I was saying before. I am not excited for finals week. I have 3 exams and 2 writing assignments to do. The writing assignments will not be bad, but the exams will. They are all comprehensive. I don’t remember a single thing from the beginning of the semester. French is what I am worried about the most, but I am hoping that she grades easy.

no.

Easter

My family decided to celebrate Easter this year differently than we normally do now that we are all adults with busy lives. Personally, I do not have a busy life, so I am a little bummed, but that’s okay. Last weekend my immediate family got together for dinner where my mom gave us our easter baskets, that I practically had to beg for. Typically, we go to one of my aunt’s houses for an egg hunt and dinner, but apparently, we are all “too old” whatever that means. I am still very much young and would love to run around the yard tackling my cousin to get the big egg. Any ways we are going to have dinner next weekend with my aunts and cousins to celebrate birthdays and a late Easter.

Since, we didn’t do anything on Sunday I was finally able to go out a take a real hike. This semesters weather has been terrible so I haven’t been able to get out as much as I would like too. So, I packed myself a lunch and went to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I ended up only going for 9 miles, since I really had to pee and did not want to go in the woods. The trails were busier than I expected, but it was still really peaceful. Once I got back to campus I set up my hammock and took a nap. Overall, it was a great Sunday.
